Our Strategy
Hens in battery cages suffer some of the worst cruelty in our food system—packed so tightly they cannot walk or even spread their wings. After years of hard work by advocates, most major food companies have promised to end this abuse. But some are falling behind, leaving millions of animals at risk and putting years of progress toward a cage-free future in danger.
We know how to make change happen. Focused campaigns have already pushed some of the biggest corporations to act, and the animal protection movement has shown again and again that this strategy works. By partnering with other funders, we can get resources to the most effective groups on the ground—right when they are needed most—to turn broken promises into real change for hens.
